Section 1

Introduction

AMRkart is committed to responsible commerce — not just in the quality of the refurbished devices we sell, but in the way we handle the end-of-life journey of every product. We believe that technology should be affordable, accessible, and sustainable.

This document sets out AMRkart's policies on:

  • Warranty coverage for refurbished laptops, desktops, and IT accessories
  • E-Waste (Electronic Waste) management and disposal obligations
  • Customer responsibilities under applicable Indian law
  • How to claim warranty or arrange e-waste disposal
Section 2

Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All products sold by AMRkart through its website, mobile application, or authorised channels
  • All customers, resellers, and institutional buyers purchasing from AMRkart within India
  • All returned, replaced, or end-of-life devices handled by AMRkart
Section 3

Product Warranty Policy

3.1 Warranty Coverage

AMRkart provides a limited warranty on all refurbished products sold through its platform. The warranty period is as follows:

RAM, Storage & Internal Parts 3 Months Up to 6 Months

3.2 What the Warranty Covers

  • Hardware defects identified after purchase that are not caused by customer misuse
  • Failure of internal components (motherboard, processor, RAM, storage) under normal use
  • Screen defects arising under normal operating conditions (excluding physical damage)
  • Battery performance falling below 60% capacity within the warranty period
  • Issues arising from AMRkart's refurbishment or quality-check process

3.3 What the Warranty Does NOT Cover

⚠ The following are excluded from warranty coverage.
  • Physical damage caused by drops, spills, accidents, or misuse
  • Damage resulting from unauthorised repairs or modifications
  • Software issues, viruses, or operating system failures
  • Cosmetic wear including scratches, dents, or discolouration
  • Products with tampered, removed, or illegible serial numbers
  • Damage caused by use of incompatible accessories or third-party chargers
  • Normal wear and tear of consumable components such as batteries and keyboards

3.4 How to Claim Warranty

  1. Contact AMRkart support at care@amrkart.com or call +91 91306 91306 within the warranty period.
  2. Provide your order ID, product serial number, and a description of the defect.
  3. AMRkart will issue a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) number within 48 business hours.
  4. Ship the product to our authorised service centre with original packaging where possible.
  5. AMRkart will repair or replace the defective product within 7–14 business days of receipt.
  6. Repaired or replaced products carry the remainder of the original warranty period.

E-Waste Management Policy

AMRkart operates in full compliance with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF & CC), Government of India. We are a registered Producer/Refurbisher under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework.

4.1 Our Commitment

  • Extending the usable life of electronic devices through rigorous refurbishment
  • Reducing the volume of e-waste entering India's waste stream
  • Ensuring that all end-of-life devices are disposed of through authorised e-waste recyclers
  • Meeting our annual E-Waste collection targets as mandated by the EPR framework
  • Maintaining transparent records of all e-waste collected, processed, and recycled

4.2 Customer Obligations Under E-Waste Rules 2022

As a consumer of electronic products, you are legally required to:

  • Not discard electronic devices in regular household waste or landfills
  • Return end-of-life electronic products to an authorised Producer, Dealer, or Collection Centre
  • Not dismantle, repair, or attempt to recycle e-waste outside of authorised channels
AMRkart makes it easy for customers to fulfil these obligations — see Section 4.4 for the Take-Back Programme.

4.3 Hazardous Materials Disclosure

Refurbished electronic devices may contain hazardous substances including:

⚠ Improper disposal of these substances can cause severe environmental damage and health hazards. Never dispose of electronic devices in regular bins.

4.4 AMRkart Take-Back Programme

AMRkart operates a voluntary Take-Back Programme to help customers responsibly dispose of old, broken, or end-of-life electronic devices.

  1. Contact AMRkart at care@amrkart.com with subject line 'E-Waste Take-Back Request'.
  2. Provide your device details (type, brand, model, approximate age).
  3. AMRkart will arrange a free doorstep pickup in eligible cities, or provide the address of the nearest authorised Collection Point.
  4. You will receive a digital E-Waste Disposal Certificate confirming responsible recycling.

Devices Accepted

  • Laptops and notebooks (any brand)
  • Desktops, towers, and all-in-one PCs
  • Monitors and displays
  • Keyboards, mice, and peripherals
  • Mobile phones and tablets
  • Printers and scanners
  • Batteries and power adapters
This programme is available free of charge. AMRkart does not offer monetary compensation for devices returned through the Take-Back Programme unless as part of a separate Trade-In offer.

4.5 Authorised Recycling Partners

AMRkart works exclusively with MoEF & CC-registered and CPCB-authorised e-waste recyclers. All devices collected are processed by certified partners to ensure:

  • Data destruction compliant with NIST 800-88 standards
  • Safe extraction and recycling of hazardous materials
  • Maximum recovery of reusable materials (metals, plastics, glass)
  • Zero landfill disposal of collected e-waste
Section 5

Data Security & Disposal

AMRkart takes the security of your data seriously. All devices returned under warranty or the Take-Back Programme undergo a certified data wipe before any further processing. This includes:

  • Multi-pass overwrite of all storage media (HDD and SSD)
  • Physical destruction of storage media where data wipe is not possible
  • Issuance of a Data Destruction Certificate upon request
Customers are advised to back up all personal data before returning any device to AMRkart.
Section 6

Limitation of Liability

AMRkart's liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective product. AMRkart shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from product defects
  • Loss of data, business interruption, or loss of profit
  • Damages exceeding the original purchase price of the product

This limitation does not affect any statutory rights you may have under applicable Indian consumer protection law.

Section 7

Governing Law

This policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
